The Brief

Team
Skype video development team is developing technology that enables high quality, multy way, multy modal video communications experience over the Internet. Skype video runs on x86 based Personal Computers as well as embedded platforms targeted for Mobile- and Consumer Electronic devices. We are continuing to expand this exceptional team and are thus looking for highly experienced, talented and motivated individuals capable of both working collaboratively with others as well as making significant individual contributions.

Responsibilities:
As a member of the video team you will be engaged at the forefront of Skype's innovations in real-time IP video communication on mobile platforms like iPhone, Android, embedded Linux and Symbian. You will be working in Skype video team focusing on mobile video together with engineers and architects in the video team as well as other units.

Pre-requisite knowledge, skills and experience:
• C/C++ development is a strong requirement
• Cross platform development experience with Android OS, iPhone, Symbian or Embedded Linux
• Understanding of current video coding algorithms and media frameworks
• Experience with working on development boards and optimizing software
• Good understanding of multithreaded programming and real-time applications
• Good technical, analytical and communication skills (English is a must)
• Positive attitude, proactive and self guided
